Written by Michelle Garrett You are not alone. There are people who care. Jesus cares. He says you are worthy. He says you have a purpose. He created you like no other! The lenses of depression and hopelessness try to cover your view of the light, but that doesn’t mean there’s no hope. You just might not be seeing it accurately. Your life matters. God created you and He loves you. Even when you feel separated from His love, you aren’t. Nothing can separate you from Him. Suic

Written by Switch Here’s the thing about life—there’s no one telling you how to gauge if what’s on your plate is too much on your plate. Whether or not you’re living with depression and anxiety, life can feel relentless. Life shouts: Push! Go! Thrive! Prove! Post it! Pics or it didn’t happen! And yet life seems to have nothing to say when it comes to being overwhelmed, stressed, or pushed to the edge. No wonder so many teens find themselves looking for anxiety relief or a way

Written by Michelle Meisner History is full of dark days. Everyone has them. Some of them feel unspeakable. The darkest days, however, have one thing in common: hope has been severely damaged or lost. Imagine your worst possible day. Now triple it—at least. I believe that’s what the greatest man to ever live, Jesus Christ, experienced one very bad Friday to a degree that no one can fully understand. He was killed because of us. We looked Love in the eye and demanded He be cru

Written by Lori Meek I’m guessing that if you’re reading this, you’ve struggled or are struggling with anxiety or depression and you’re looking for hope. Maybe you feel like you’ve tried everything and you just can’t seem to beat it. You’re hoping to find a prayer for anxiety that will fix it all and make it go away. Poof! That nagging, aching, painful feeling inside is now gone and you can go back to normal. Maybe you feel lost, afraid and alone. I bet you also sometimes fee

Written by Jordan Wiseman Growing up, I was terrible at math class. So, I wouldn’t normally celebrate Pi Day. In fact, I’ve spent most of my life avoiding anything mathematical. I like words—but numbers? They aren’t really my thing. Sometimes God can be difficult to understand, just like the unending number Pi. In fact, there have been times when my struggle to understand God has caused me to question His existence altogether. I didn’t understand why He would let family membe

Written by Cindy Beall I felt nothing. I was numb at home. I loved my family, and I was still serving them, but my heart was just numb. I was numb at church. I loved the people we led, but simply went through the motions while I was there. I was numb to just about everything. And even though I didn’t like where I was, I just couldn’t seem to crawl out of this place of just existing. Ever been there? Just doing the same ol’ routines because you’re expected to even though you h

Written by Chelsea McClean Good Friday is a dark day. For me, Good Friday lasted several months. I’ll explain. In 2012, I walked across the stage at my university graduation and into my darkest season. You see, when I began working in full-time ministry at 21 years old, I was completely unprepared for the attacks I was about to receive. I quickly found myself in a battle for the health of my body, mind, and spirit. For months, I was absolutely crippled by anxiety. And I coul

Written by Michelle Irvine If someone were to describe your personality, what kind of words might they use? Maybe cheerful, energetic, playful, or funny? Or perhaps bitter, angry, withdrawn, or critical? If I’m honest, my tendency would be on the grumpier end of that spectrum, and unfortunately, this sullen, unsociable soul was ironically born into a family of eternal optimists. Eventually, I learned that I could be optimistic too, but first, I needed to ask God for help. M

Written by Jess Holland Who can I talk to about depression? I’ve asked this. Maybe you’re asking this. Let’s talk about depression. Sound okay? No? No one starts a conversation like that, but maybe we should. Maybe the stigma only remains because we choose to keep it hush-hush. Today, let’s choose to talk about depression even if it feels uncomfortable at first. Ready? I’ll start. One day at work, I felt a wave of emotion come over me. I did the awkward walk-run to the closes

Written by Jess Holland This is part two of a three-part series on depression. If you missed part one, start there. Early on, I needed to tell someone what was happening with me. The label of depression felt like a weight around my neck, and if I thought if I could share with one person, the weight would lighten just a bit. I decided on the friend, practiced the conversation, even deciding to use the word depression and everything. Still, the idea of having an actual talk a

Written by Jess Holland This is part three of a three-part series on depression. Find part one here and part two here. Through my past two posts, we’ve talked about how hard it was for me to even realize I needed to open up to someone. Then, we talked about how hard it was for me to find the right people to talk to. Now let’s talk about how I found people I could trust and began my journey out of the darkness of my depression. I believe it will help you open up and begin yo
